On Stage

Musician/Performer

Robbie has been seen on stage playing keyboards for some of Canada’s biggest artists (Donovan Woods, Jill Barber, Rose Cousins) over the past 2 decades.  His musical sensitivity is at home in any genre and his technical abilities will make him an asset to any touring show.  He is an accomplished keyboardist playing piano, organ, synthesizers, and accordion, as well as a great bassist.  Robbie brings polished sounds to the stage that make the show sound as big as the recordings with the excitement of a live musician adding a tasteful human element.

Musical Director/Playback Engineer:

With his unique skill set bridging the gap between studio and stage, Robbie has become an in-demand musical director for stage and theatre, building shows that sound like a record.  He has a keen ability to bring together the right musicians combining live players with playback to give the audience an unforgettable experience.  he has served as musical director while also filling the role of keyboardist and playback engineer for Donovan Woods, Jill Barber, The Three Cantor’s, and Robbie Roth’s Theatre piece Little Rock Songs.  Incorporating a redundant playback rig to ensure a flawless performance with sounds that match the studio recording with a group of live musicians brings the record to life while also providing the artist with options to scale the touring group up or down in size as budgets allow without sacrificing the audience’s experience.
